Try it in RareAlert

Open Search eBay to apply these techniques to live collector listings. Some filters act on the results already loaded; starting a new search makes a new eBay request.

Start with a broad phrase, then refine it

Search eBay for a collectible, such as “Nintendo 2DS sealed” or “Charizard PSA.” Check the first batch of results before choosing which terms to require or exclude. The site can show estimated eBay results alongside the number of listings actually examined.

Require the important words

RareAlert supports required keywords in addition to the main search phrase. Separate requirements with commas for AND. Use a vertical bar between alternatives for OR. For example, “sealed, red|blue” asks for sealed and at least one of red or blue. Required terms filter results already loaded into the browser.

Exclude recurring unwanted keywords

Put recurring unwanted title terms into Excluded keywords. If you want the console rather than an accessory, possible exclusions include “case only,” “shell,” or “replacement.” Be precise: excluding a broad word like “case” could hide a complete console bundle that includes a case.

Choose price, category, condition, and grading

Set a minimum or maximum price; select a collectible category; choose New or Used if you want to narrow by condition. For graded collectibles, select Graded only, then choose a company and grade range when available. Some grading details may be absent from eBay summary data, so always review individual listings.

Understand filtering versus a fresh eBay search

Changing several filters narrows the results already loaded without an extra request to eBay. When you click Search eBay, the current price range and category are included in the eBay request. The number of matching listings is not the same as eBay’s estimated total.

Save the search you want to repeat

Choose Save Search to store the phrase and settings in this browser. For account-based monitoring and alerts, use Save to Radar and review the confirmation. Neither action should be mistaken for purchasing a listing.
